It all started with a used computer and a brown paper sack….
In 2004, a man and his wife were visiting an estate auction in Bridgewater, VA. He won the bid for a used desktop computer accompanied by a brown paper sack containing various types of software. After taking the computer home and ensuring that it worked fine, he investigated the contents of the brown paper sack. Among several types of software, there was one that had never been opened. It was an office suite software. He opened and installed it and began to investigate the functionalities of it. A template was discovered that allowed one to compose a newsletter. Playfully, at first, he began to write content that filled the pre-arranged spaces. Then, inspiration to write content that was uplifting and informative from a Christian perspective began to flow throughout the pages. Upon completion, he gave it the title The Voice of Holiness Newsletter. Upon an unction, he decided to print, publish and distribute the newsletter to church members and close friends. The first issue was published in January 2005.
The Beginning
Previously, this man had spent many years in the newspaper publishing business and was very familiar with the operation of printing. Having knowledge of printing, and at that present time, was actively printing and distributing the aforementioned newsletter, he was approached by some brethren at an outdoor camp meeting about starting and operating a Bible printing facility. Sitting outside under the trees at a picnic table, the three brethren discussed the need per the one brother’s inability to acquire Bibles, and had a desire to print them because they were not readily available in the language he was needing. After this discussion, all three men agreed there was a need for establishing a printing facility to not only print Bibles, but many other types of Christian literature as well.
In December of 2005, a group of five men, including the three above-mentioned, gathered together in Pauls Valley, OK in a little one-room schoolhouse and formed Voice of Holiness Press. Shortly thereafter, a building was located in Wynnewood, OK that was formerly part of a church building, and now sat vacant with the owners looking for a buyer. Upon agreement among all parties, the building was purchased, and renovations were commenced to accommodate printing equipment. In nearly the same time frame, it was made known of a similar printing operation in McAllen, TX that was desiring to sell out. The trip was made to view the equipment and make an offer to purchase. After looking at the printing equipment and negotiating the price, an agreement was reached, and the printing equipment was purchased and relocated to Wynnewood, OK.
In 2007, Voice of Holiness Press was incorporated in the State of Oklahoma, and shortly thereafter received nonprofit 501(c)3 religious organization status from the IRS. While the original quest to print Bibles in the other language never materialized, soft cover large print Bibles in English for jails and prisons did. The need for a low cost, but quality made softcover Bible in large print was made known by many requests for such. Voice of Holiness Press, Inc. then turned the focus in that direction and began to publish and distribute them. A trademark was designed and stamped on each Bible to identify both the publisher, and the mission- Bibles Beyond Borders.
The name says it all…Bibles beyond borders; beyond the borders of our country, and beyond the borders of another; beyond the borders of razor wire around the prison, and beyond the door of the prison cell; beyond the borders of the mind even reaching beyond the borders of the heart.
Today, thousands of large-print Bibles are shipped from our warehouse each year. These Bibles are reaching beyond borders man has established because there are no boundaries the Word of God cannot cross. Men and women nationwide and abroad have joined forces with Bibles Beyond Borders to help make the Word of God go viral. God’s army is more than one person, and more than just a select few. It is a great company from sea to sea, from border to border that is proudly marching onward carrying the everlasting Truth of the Gospel! They are Warriors of the Word, bearing the Sword of Truth. They are Warriors taking Bibles beyond borders.

In the Bible, we read the story about David and Goliath. Goliath being a giant of man, and David just a small lad, but David was a mighty man of war! When his brother chastised him, David said, “Is there not a cause?” Through faith in the God that he served, and recognizing there was a cause, he was enabled to overcome and destroy the giant. We need Warriors of the Word that will stand for the cause having the same faith and stamina as David did. No matter your stature, or how small you may feel; you can be a mighty Warrior of the Word.
