"Small incarceration facility housing about 750 inmates (650 males and 100 females)"

Dear Voice of Holiness Press

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! I am the unit chaplain for the County Correctional Center. It is a pleasure for me to write to you today.

The County Correctional Center is a small incarceration facility housing about 750 inmates (650 males and 100 females). This population also includes an average of 15 Hispanic inmates. We house pre-trial Texas county inmates, convicted Arkansas State inmates, and pre-trial Federal inmates.

I receive numerous requests from these men and women for Bibles, Bible studies, Concordances, Dictionaries, Christian books, devotional-inspirational literature, newsletters, cards, calendars, spiritual inserts, and bookmarks. Most of the time, I can barely maintain an inventory in our Chapel Resource Center to keep up with their thirst for “living water". Consequently, I write to many churches, ministries, and publishers for help. (Our unit chapel ministry is not provided a budget for religious materials).

Recently, I discovered a black, KJV Large Print Bible with your company name and address stamped on the back cover. I admired the easy to read format of this Bible. I was encouraged by the Holy Spirit to write to you to ask if you are able to send me some of these Bibles so I can make them available for distribution to our population.

You see, one of the dilemmas I encounter daily is that a multitude of these men and women coming into the prison system, arrive with vision impairments and quite often without their reading glasses. To compound matters, this correctional facility does not provide vision care or glasses. Having hit rock bottom, many inmates turn to the Lord and request the KJV version of the Bible in large print.

Jesus tells us the harvest is plentiful. As ministers, we share a strong fellowship in the body of Christ. So, it is so critical that we reach out to these men and women while there is still time. Jesus gave us this task to fulfill. It is only by God's good grace that we have this opportunity. Therefore, let us be a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit working through our fellowship.

I would be extremely grateful to you for any help you may be able to offer in bringing the Word to these individuals. Please feel free to send me any other material you may deem appropriate for our unit.

With my sincerest gratitude and appreciation,

Texas Chaplin
